Have you ever wondered what a Laboratory Technician does and how they do it? If you’re inquisitive enough and want to carve out a career in an exciting and diverse business, then we want to hear from you! We’re Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, a leader in the construction and maintenance of airport and military infrastructure worldwide. As a Lab Technician, you’ll learn to test and inspect construction materials, including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), Concrete and Construction Soils.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we are the specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors. We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.
What you’ll do
As our Laboratory Technician in training, we’ll support you to develop your full potential for an exciting and rewarding career with us. You’ll be supported to utilise appropriate inspection and testing of the construction materials to determine whether their characteristics, properties and quality meet or exceed the standards and specifications prescribed by our clients and by Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure. As the successful candidate you’ll also be assisted in the management of allocated tasks within agreed timescales to ensure that mix design and raw material evaluations are conducted with precision. You will also have the opportunity to support technical teams to optimise and deliver products to various project sites as well as being involved in assisting with release and roll-out of new products.
The role is initially based at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire, but the successful candidate will be expected to work at other project sites as necessary.
